Past Events
For a complete history of Engineering Exposition, formerly Engineers' Days, you can look at the list of Past Events. Programs from many past events are also available which include information about the history of E-Expo and the student research competitions.
E-Days
E-Expo was formerly known as E-Days up until an organizational overhaul was done to the event in the year 2006. E-Days occurred at the end of Engineering Week and lasted for three days each with a main event such as a engineering specific career fair, high school competitions, and a public day.
E-Expo
Since 2006, E-Expo has been the new form of the traditional E-Days celebration and has occurred completely within one Saturday. There are three main goals of the Engineering Expo that have changed little since the beginning of the event. E-Expo must foster a sense of competition among the Speed School engineering students as they seek to put their best work on display for the public and corporate representatives that attend the event. Another valuable objective is to provide a means for the students of the Speed School of Engineering to network with companies in order to establish contacts with the professional world in the form of informal interviews, co-ops or internships, or even lasting employment. The last requirement of a successful E-Expo is to promote the University of Louisville and the Speed School of Engineering to potential students, companies, faculty, and the general public.
Who is Involved?
In order for this event to become a reality, many students, professors, and faculty provide their input, professional hours, and volunteer outside of classes. E-Expo is organized and run by the Speed School Student Council, one of the largest and most active student councils of the University of Louisville’s student body. More information on the student council can be found on our webpage, www.speedcouncil.org. This year, the University of Louisville’s Career Services department and the Speed Career Development office are teaming up in conjunction with the Speed School Student Council in order to provide an engineering specific career fair on Friday March 6th as part of this year’s E-Expo. It should be an exciting addition to this year’s Engineering Exposition.
