Student Research Competition Rules

Prompt

Create and present a brief tri-fold presentation of a technical project or research area in which you are involved. It should be presented concisely and in a manner that someone with a basic technical background in engineering or science could understand it.

Rules

Judges will come by in groups at predetermined times (TBD that day - schedule will be printed) to judge. They will spend approx. 1 minute observing your tri-fold, 5 minutes are allotted to present, and another 2 minutes are for Q & A. You are not allowed to rearrange this order or timing. TIMING WILL BE STRICTLY FOLLOWED. You will be stopped as soon as your time runs out.

Presentations must be done on the boards we provide for you. Other demonstrations, samples, etc. will be allowed during the judging time. This includes laptops - while there will be power in the building but there is NO GUARANTEE you will be placed near or around a power outlet. The tables near a wall outlet will be given on a first come first serve basis.

You must be at your Exhibit at the scheduled times. If you completely miss your presentation time then you will receive a 0 score from your judges. If you are late to your presentation, and with the approval of your judges, then you may present within the remaining time of your presentation (but still following the schedule. If you miss the first 2 minutes, then you present for 4 min and answer Q & A for 2 min)

When you arrive at E-Expo you will be assigned a poster board along with materials so you can attach your poster to it. Please try to avoid damaging the boards, although we understand there may be some small holes, rips, etc.
